Maple Blinds & Shades

Health Canada Compliance

Health Canada

Starting from April 11, 2022, all Maple Blinds and Shades comply with the Corded Window Coverings Regulations (CWCR), which will be enforced entirely from May 1, 2022. The CWCR is quite restrictive in that it restricts the length and pull force of cords on any product, which affects most window coverings categories. You may go through the regulations by clicking on the link

We care about the safety of children and pets around window treatments, and you should too. The use of window treatment cords can pose a danger of strangulation to young children and pets. Therefore, we have made significant changes to our product categories to comply with the Health Canada Corded Window Coverings Regulations.

We believe that by providing our customers with information on child safety control options, they can reduce or eliminate the risks associated with window treatments. Additionally, we encourage thoughtful design choices to ensure the safety of loved ones. To learn more about child safety control options, you can download our brochure for quick reference.

Ensuring that all furniture, cribs, beds, and other climbable surfaces are kept away from windows.

Installing cordless window coverings in households with young children.

Examining current window treatments for any cords that are exposed or hanging, and replacing them with products that meet the CWCR standards.
